Hanford is located 35 miles south of Fresno, in the central part of the San Joaquin Valley. From Fresno: south on SH99 to Hanford SH 43 exit. South on 43. From LA: north on SH 99 to SH 198, west on SH 198. I-5 and SH41 also intersects with SH 198, east on SH 198.
CommentsUnique site is the 19th century town square, complete with such quintessential small town Americana as historic buildings, green lawns, memorial fountain from the 1930s, colorful flower beds, a working carousel from the past and two World War I cannons. Site has been used in films and national TV ads. Sunday closing is 17:00 Crafts, booths and vendor costumes are juried. Hanford is an Amtrak stop; station is walking distance to site. Coming to the faire by train is a popular day trip. Contact Hanford City Recreation Department at (559) 585-2525. Renaissance of Kings was the first and remains the oldest and longest running independent public faire in Calif. Entertainment is themed for costumes, period appearance of encapments, appropriateness, interaction with other entertainers and with the visitors.

OnSite-FacilitiesFree 'camping' in A/C buildings with indoor restrooms for authorized participants. Handicapped access and facilities, elevator. Showers within walking distance at city pool. Vendors can camp free in booths with permission. Day and night security. Restroom building on grounds includes separate handicapped rooms and facilities. Portable handicapped privies and handwashing stations also on the grounds. Pay phones. Some free public parking. No Pets.
